Der Hochtemperatur-Turbinenradgaszähler ist ein präzises Messgerät in modernster Technik entwickelt für vorgeheiztes Gas in Kraftwerken. Optische Sensoren (Hochfrequenz-Aufnehmer) registrieren zwei Impulse pro Umdrehung des Turbinenrades von einem speziellen Geber, der auf der Rotorwelle montiert ist. 

Der Einsatz von vier optischen Sensoren, montiert in speziellen Tauchtaschen, ermöglichen Austausch oder Reinigung ohne die Rohrleitung zu entleeren. Die optische Schnittstelleneinheit ist auf dem Gehäuse in einem explosionsgeschützten Behälter montiert.

TRRZ / Einrohrquantometer (mit Stahlgussgehäuse) messen die durchströmte Gasmenge in Betriebskubikmeter. Sie werden in 2 Messbereichen (1:10 und 1:20), 6 unterschiedlichen Durchflussbereichen (von 4 - 400 m³/h) und 5 Nennweiten (von DN 40 - DN 100) geliefert.

TRRZ sind mit NF- und HF-Impulsgeber, ebenso mit Nachlaufbremse als Option lieferbar.


Strömungsgleichrichter dienen zur Beseitigung von rohrleitungs- oder anlagenbedingten Turbulenzen, Verwirbelungen, Vorstörungen oder asymetrischen Strömungsprofilen in Gasanlagen.

Elster-Instromet Quantometer QA und QAe sind Strömungsmessgeräte, die das durchströmende Volumen in Betriebskubikmeter anzeigen. Je nach Ausführung wird die Anzeige auf ein mechanisches ( QA ) oder elektronisches ( QAe ) Zählwerk übertragen. Quantometer QA / QAe zur Messung gasförmiger Medien vereinen die hohe Messgenauigkeit der Quantometer-Baureihe Q mit niedrigem Gewicht, das aus dem Gehäusewerkstoff Aluminium resultiert.
Die Quantometer werden in unterschiedlichen Messbereichen, Nenn-weiten und Druckstufen geliefert. Je nach Ausführung ist ein NF- und MF-Impulsgeber, eine optische Auslesung oder eine optische Auslesung mit zusätzlichem M-Bus Ausgang eingebaut. The high temperature Turbine gas Flow Meter is a state of the art precision instrument designed for pre-heated gas for power plants. Optical sensors (high freqency pick-up) will register two impulses per turbine wheel revolution from the special revolving actuator (light corridor) mounted on the main shaft.

The use of 4 optical sensors mounted in a special thermowell grant replacing or cleaning without depresurising the line. The optical interface unit is mounted on the meter in an explosion proof box.

The M2R can be used for indoor and outdoor installations. Die Softwaremodule RM100 und RM200 für Pocket PC (Betriebs­system Pocket PC 2003 oder Windows Mobile 5.0) werden zum Auslesen und Parametrieren von Mengenumwertern und Daten­speichern eingesetzt. Die Verbindung zwischen Pocket PC und dem auszulesenden Gerät wird dabei drahtlos (bis zu 10 Meter) über die Bluetooth-Schnittstelle des Pocket PCs unter Verwendung entspre­chender Ausleseköpfe auf der Geräteseite realisiert. Die gesammelten Archivdaten werden über die Dockingstation oder ein zugehöriges Verbindungskabel auf einen PC übertragen und stehen so dem bekannten Elster-Instromet LIS-System zur Weiterver­arbeitung zur Verfügung.


Die Haushaltsbalgengaszähler BK-G2,5 bis BK-G6 erfüllen höchste Ansprüche. Sie werden in gefalzter Ausführung als Ein- und Zweistutzengaszähler geliefert ( BK-G2,5 nur in Einstutzenausführung ). Das Messwerk arbeitet nach dem Freischwingerprinzip. Daraus resultieren geräuscharmer Lauf, langzeitstabiles Messverhalten, höchste Messgenauigkeit und die Möglichkeit zur mechanischen Temperaturumwertung ( TC ).

WinLOOK ist ein einfaches Softwarewerkzeug zur Darstellung der ausgelesenen Archive von Geräten der LIS-200 Produktlinie. Damit können Monats- und Intervallarchive der Datenspeicher DL210, DL220 und DL240 und des Mengenumwerters EK260 in tabellarischer und graphischer Form dargestellt werden. Die aufgezeichneten Daten aus den Registrierinstanzen von DSfG-Geräten (z.B. FLOWCOMP gas-net Z0, Z1 oder F1) können ebenfalls in WinLOOK dargestellt werden.

Zusätzlich stehen einfache Exportfunktionen zu den Programmen Microsoft EXCEL und Word zur Verfügung. In Verbindung mit den Parametrierprogrammen WinPADS DL-200 und WinPADS EK-200 bietet WinLOOK eine gute Möglichkeit, die Archivdaten aus einer Messstelle schnell und einfach auszulesen und darzustellen.

Die Benutzeroberfläche ist frei konfigurierbar und die Bedienung orientiert sich am Microsoft Office Standard.
Die Software ist ideal für die Verwaltung vieler Messstellen geeignet. Des weiteren wird der Einsatz im Netzwerk durch eine individuelle Benutzerverwaltung unterstützt, mit welcher unterschiedliche Rechte für die Bearbeitung der Daten vergeben werden können. GAS-WORKS ist ein modular aufgebautes Programmsystem, das den Anwender bei allen Aufgaben im Zusammenhang mit Geräten der gas-net Produktlinie optimal unterstützt.

Das Grundmodul GW-BASE verwaltet alle in einer Gasmessanlage anfallenden Datensätze, so zum Beispiel Parametrierdatensätze, Telefonzugangsdaten und Archivdatensätze. Alle weiteren GAS-WORKS Module sind einzeln zusätzlich installierbar und erfüllen die verschiedensten Funktionalitäten – wie zum Beispiel das Parametrieren von gas-net Geräten (GW-GNET+), das Auslesen von Daten über unterschiedliche Schnittstellen (GW-REMOTE), oder das Auswerten von Archivdatensätzen (GW-DATA+). Zusätzlich ist noch das Störmeldesystem (GW-MESSAGE+) verfügbar.

Das universelle Parametrierprogramm für alle Geräte der gas-net Serie heißt GW-GNET+. Die einheitliche Parametrieroberfläche macht die Arbeit sehr einfach: Wer ein einziges Mal mit GW-GNET+ gearbeitet hat, wird jedes gas-net Gerät parametrieren können - ganz gleich, um welchen Gerätetyp es sich im Einzelnen handelt.
In das Programm GW-GNET+ sind einige zusätzliche Serviceprogramme eingebunden, die verschiedene Aufgaben im Zusammenhang mit gas-net Geräten erfüllen. Welche Serviceprogramme verfügbar sind, hängt vom Typ des gas-net Gerätes ab. Für gas-net Mengenumwerter zum Beispiel können die Parametrierdaten als Datenbuch formatiert und gedruckt werden; es gibt zusätzliche Serviceprogramme für das Setzen von Zählerständen und das Löschen von Archiven.

Mit GW-REMOTE+ kann man eine Datenverbindung zu beliebigen gas-net Geräten herstellen. Dabei ist es ganz gleich, ob man ein Gerät direkt vor sich stehen hat und es über Parametrierkabel mit seinem Rechner verbindet oder aber ob man das Gerät via DFÜ in einer entfernten Anlage erreicht. Die Benutzeroberfläche von GW-REMOTE+ ist in beiden Fällen identisch aufgebaut und sehr leicht zu bedienen.
Gerade Ferndiagnose ist über DFÜ via Modem oder Rechnernetzwerk und das auf dem Rechner installierte Programm GW-REMOTE+ sehr komfortabel durchzuführen.
Über eine bestehende Datenverbindung sind mit GW-REMOTE+ übrigens auch alle anderen über DSfG in der Messanlage vernetzten Geräte erreichbar.

Das GAS-WORKS-Modul GW-DATA+ bereitet die unter GW-BASE abgelegten Archivdaten auf und präsentiert sie dem Anwender übersichtlich formatiert in einer Tabelle.
Außerdem können die Daten als Diagramm dargestellt werden. Diese Visualisierung vereinfacht die Verlaufsanalyse von Mess- und Zählwerten.

GW-DATA+ kann in einem 30-tägigen Demomodus kostenlos ausprobiert werden.


Alle Anlagen, die über Telefon/Modem oder Rechner-Netzwerk und TCP/IP Protokoll erreichbar sind, sind über die DFÜ in der Lage, bei bestimmten Ereignissen (wie zum Beispiel einem Mengenumwerter-Alarm) eine spontane Meldung bei einer Zentrale abzusetzen. Diese Funktionalität erleichtert die Überwachung und den Bereitschaftsdienst immens, wenn die eingehenden Störmeldungen richtig weiterverarbeitet werden.
Die Aufgabe von GW-MESSAGE+ ist es, solche Störmeldungen selbständig entgegenzunehmen und zu protokollieren. Die geführten Protokolle werden automatisch in der Datenverwaltung von GW-BASE gespeichert. Die eintreffenden Störmeldungen können automatisch per SMS an ein Mobiltelefon weitergeleitet werden.

The high performance is subscribed by the fact that the Q75 series is approved for fiscal metering in a number of countries. The series offers a large variety, from cast body to spool piece, sizes up to DN 750 / 30", and a multitude of options, from lubrication systems to high frequency output.


WinPADS is used for reading out the data from data loggers and volume correctors and for setting the parameters in the same devices. This is all done via a laptop computer on site or via telephone networks.

WinLOOK is a user-friendly software tool to display the readout data from the devices of the LIS-200 series. With this software the monthly and interval archives from the DL210, DL220 and DL240 data loggers as well as the EK230 and EK260 volume correctors can be displayed in tabular and graphic form. The recorded data from the registration function in the DSfG devices [e.g. Elster-Instromet Systems (previous FLOW COMP Systemtechnik) gas-net Z0, Z1 or F1] can also be displayed in WinLOOK.

In addition, it is also very easy to export data to other programs such as Microsoft EXCEL or WORD. In connection with the parameter set-up software programs WinPADS DL-200 and WinPADS EK-200, WinLOOK provides a good opportunity to readout and display the archive data from measuring points in a quick and easy way.

WinCOMS allows the user to transfer data from the components of the LIS-200 system automatically and is designed especially for use with telephone networks.

The WinVIEW program is used for archiving, evaluating and analysing the data from Elster-Instromet’s LIS-100, LIS-200 and EuroTRACE product lines and for registering data from devices with a DSfG interface. The program processes meter readings, consumption data, analog metering data and specific events and then stores the information for the purpose of any further evaluation. To do this, WinVIEW offers a variety of graphics and print-outs as well as a high level of flexibility in data transfer.
The user interface is freely configurable and the software functions along the lines of Microsoft Office. It is ideal for the administration of data from a number of metering points. On top of this, the use of the software within a network is controlled by a user administration system which can issue different rights of access for processing the data. All of the functions and possibilities which the WinLIS evaluation software offers are also available with WinVIEW.

GAS-WORKS is a modular program system supporting the user optimally in all tasks in connection with devices of the gas-net product line.

The basic module called GW-BASE manages all data records generated in a gas measuring station, such as parameterization data records, telephone access data, and archive data records. The user can configure the data management's structure to his needs. All other GAS-WORKS modules can be installed individually and additionally; they fulfil different functionalities, such as parameterizing gas-net devices (GW-GNET+), reading out data via different interfaces (GW-REMOTE), or evaluating archive data records (GW-DATA+).


Der Datenspeicher DL210 verfügt über die PTB-Zulassung als Höchtsbelastungsanzeige- und Belastungsregistriergerät und erfüllt sowohl die Anforderungen der Gasnetzzugangsverordnung GasNZV als auch des technischen Arbeitsblattes DVGW G2000 in idealer Weise.

An den Eingang des Datenspeichers kann alternativ zu einem Impulsgeber auch ein Absolut Encoder Zählwerk angeschlossen werden. Zur Datenfernübertragung ist ein GSM/GPRS Modem inkl. Antenne direkt im Gerät integriert und kann über ein Netzteil oder Batterien betrieben werden.


Mit dem batteriebetriebenen Datenspeicher DL220 ist es möglich, Zählerstände und Verbrauchsdaten völlig unabhängig von Netz- und Telefonanschluss über ein Datenfernübertragungssystem auszulesen. Hierzu verfügt der Datenspeicher über ein integriertes GSM-Modem. Datenspeicher und GSM-Modem werden über voneinander unabhängigen Batterien gespeist. Durch die getrennte Energieversorgung ist die Funktion des Datenspeichers (Zählung und Archivierung) mit und ohne Modembetrieb zu jeder Zeit gewährleistet.
 
Die Gerätevariante DL220/W (ohne Display und Tastatur) ermöglicht die Datenerfassung und –übertragung zur Netzüberwachung in Kombination mit Wasserzählern für nicht-eichpflichtige Messungen unter schwierigen Umgebungsbedingungen (z.B. Wasserschächte).


Der PTB zugelassene, batteriebetriebene Datenspeicher DL240 bietet vier voneinander unabhängige Eingangskanäle zur Erfassung und Registrierung der Volumenimpulse von Gas- und Wasserzählern. Für nichteichpflichtige Anwendungen ist auch der Anschluss von Zählern für andere Medien möglich. Dabei können die Impulsleitungen von eigensicheren und nichteigensicheren Geräten ohne zusätzliche Geräte direkt angeschlossen werden.
Optional stehen ein Netzteil und verschiedene Modems und Kommunikationsmodule zur Verfügung, die auch nachträglich ohne Verletzung der amtlichen Plomben installiert und in Betrieb genommen werden können. Damit ist der Einsatz des DL240 in jeder Hinsicht flexibel.


With the DL220 data logger it is possible to read out meter readings and consumption data via a remote transfer data system even if there is no external power supply and no telephone line. This is because the data logger has an integrated GSM modem with its own antenna.

The data logger and the GSM modem are powered by separate batteries, which guarantees that the function of the data logger (counting, archiving) are available at all times, whether the modem is in operation or not.

The DL220 has two intrinsically safe inputs and covers practically every field of application. Pulsers from gas meters and volume correctors installed in hazardous areas can be used just as easily as pulse outputs from meters used for other media (e.g. water meter).



The DL240 data logger is equipped with state-of-the-art micro-electronics. It counts the pulses from gas, water, heat or electricity meters and stores them at pre-programmed intervals. If the interval is one hour, then each of the four inputs can store data of  6 months. Besides this data, end-of-month readings and readings at the time of the readout can also be stored or made available for transfer.
Special functions such as adding up volumes, monitoring error limits and tariff switching extend the use of the data logger beyond mere data storage.

Der TC210 ist ein Temperatur-Mengenumwerter mit integriertem Speicher für Monatsende-Zählerstände des Betriebs- und Normvolumens. Er kann direkt auf der Fühlertasche, über einen Haltewinkel am Gaszähler oder der Wand montiert werden.


Der EK210 mit MID-Zulassung ist ein kompakter, batteriebetriebener, elektronischer Mengenumwerter. Das Gerät hat einen integrierten Druckaufnehmer und einen fest angeschlossenen Temperaturaufnehmer vom Typ Pt-500. Der EK210 wird direkt auf oder an einem Gaszähler installiert.
Es stehen Druckaufnehmer für verschiedene Druckbereiche bis 80 bar zur Verfügung. Damit ist der  EK210 die universell einsetzbare Lösung für Abrechnungszwecke.

Die Produktion des Gerätes wird zum Jahresende 2010 eingestellt.


Die Geräte BK-G10 bis BK-G25 sind kompakte Gewerbebalgengaszähler für höchste Ansprüche.
Sie werden in gefalzter Ausführung als Ein- und Zweistutzenzähler geliefert. Das Messwerk arbeitet nach dem Freischwingerprinzip. Daraus resultieren geräuscharmer Lauf, höchste Messgenauigkeit und langzeitstabiles Messverhalten.

Die Bereitstellung der Datenkommunikation für den Mengenumwerter EK260 in Gasstationen ohne Stromversorgung und ohne Telefonanschluss steht beim Einsatz der Funktionserweiterungseinheit FE230 im Vordergrund.

Die FE230 beinhaltet ein GSM-Datenfunkmodem zur Datenkommunikation über öffentliche Mobilfunknetze. Die Antenne des Modems ist im Gehäuse integriert. Zur Optimierung der Batterielebensdauer wird das Modem innerhalb eines programmierbaren Zeitfensters für den Datenabruf aktiviert.


Die Funktionserweiterung FE260 erfüllt vier wesentliche Aufgaben.

   -   Ex-Trennung der Datenschnittstelle
   -   Ex-Trennung der Digitalausgänge
   -   Bereitstellung einer Schnittstelle zum Einsatz eines Modem-Moduls
   -   Energieversorgung des Mengenumwerters vom Typ EK260

Für die Datenkommunikation verfügt die Funktionserweiterung FE260 über eine Schnittstelle, welche direkt oder auch nachträglich mit einem Modem-Modul ausgerüstet werden kann. Hierfür stehen verschiedene Module für das Festnetz (analog und ISDN), sowie für das GSM-Netz zur Verfügung. Für den Einsatz anderer externer Modems kann alternativ ein Adapter mit einer CL0- oder RS232-Schnittstelle eingesetzt werden. Darüber hinaus steht auch eine TCP/IP-Schnittstelle zur Verfügung, mit  welcher der Mengenumwerter über ein entsprechendes Netzwerk ausgelesen werden kann.


Das Industriemodem EM260 dient zum Fern-Auslesen und Fern-Parametrieren von Geräten der Elster-Instromet LIS-100-Produktlinie (DS-100, EK-88, EK-87) sowie der LIS-200-Produktline (EK260) über das analoge, digitale oder GSM-Datenfunknetz.
Für den Mengenumwerter EK260 kann alternativ zu einem Modem auch ein Schnittstellenmodul zur Anbindung an ein TCP/IP Netzwerk oder ein Modem mit CL1-Schnittstelle verwendet werden. Damit kann der Mengenumwerter EK260 zur Kommunikation in eine bestehende Installation integriert werden.
Zusätzlich zur Datenkommunikation stellt das Modem auch die externe Spannungsversorgung für die batteriebetriebenen Mengenumwerter EK260 und EK-88 bereit. Dies ist besonders dann vorteilhaft; wenn Daten öfter als monatlich ausgelesen werden sollen.


Der gas-net Z0 ist ein elektronischer Zustands-Mengenumwerter für Erdgase mit integrierter Registrierung. Der Z0 kann mit verschiedenen eigensicheren oder druckfest gekapselten Druck- und Temperaturaufnehmern kombiniert werden.

Das Gasbeschaffenheits-Messgerät gas-lab Q1 wird eingesetzt in Gasmisch- und Regelanlagen, bei der Speicherbewirtschaftung und zur Backup-Messung für amtliche Prozessgaschromatographen in großen Messstationen. In der Gasverteilung wird der gas-lab Q1 zur Energiemessung oder beim Ersatz der Dichteumwertung durch die Zustandsmengenumwertung eingesetzt. Durch seine kontinuierliche und zeitnahe Messung aller maßgeblichen Gasparameter findet der gas-lab Q1 auch Einsatz in der industriellen Gasverwendung, z. B. in Gaskraftwerken zur Abrechnung, Überwachung des Wirkungsgrades oder zur Turbinensteuerung.

Der EnCal 2000 PGC ist ein Analysegerät, welches die Zusammensetzung von Erdgas bestimmt. Es berechnet Brennwert und Dichte des Erdgases gemäß der ISO 6976 Methode.

Das Gesamtsystem besteht aus dem Gas-Chromatographen, der Kontrolleinheit, Kalibriergas, Trägergas, der Gasprobenstrecke und optional einer Heizungsstrecke. This is a volume corrector with a built-in data-storage function for meter readings as well as average values of pressure, temperature, correction factor and supercompressibility for up to 9 months with an hourly storage interval.
Compressibility is calculated in accordance with AGA-8 GC 2 / S-GERG 88 or as a constant value. The EK 260 can be mounted onto a wall or a gas meter.


IN-Z61 is a retro-fittable Low Frequency (LF) pulser for all Elster-Instromet diaphragm gas meters BK-G1.6 to BK-G100.

The main reason for the use of the FE230 function extension unit is to provide a data communication link for EK260 or EK230 volume correctors which are installed in gas stations where there is no existing power supply or telephone network.

The FE230 incorporates a GSM data radio modem to provide data communication via public telephone networks. The antenna for the modem is built into the housing of the device.
In order to optimise the life expectancy of the battery, the modem is activated within a programmable, cyclical time frame and the data is called up within this period.



The Function-Extension FE260 has three different features:

 

  • Ex-separation of serial interface, digital outputs as well as
    power supply for  an EK230 or  EK260  volume  corrector
    which is  installed  inside a hazardous area
  • Internal interface  for plugging in a modem or for connecting an
    external modem 
  • Power supply for EK230 or EK260 volume correctors


The EM260 industrial modem is used for remote readout and remote parameter settings from devices of the Elster-Instromet LIS-100-productline (DS-100, EK-88, EK-87), as well as the LIS-200-productline (EK260) over the analogue, digital or GSM data radio network.
For the EK260 volume corrector an interface module can be also used alternatively for the connecting to a TCP/IP network or a modem with CL1-interface. Thus the volume corrector EK260 can be integrated for communication into an existing application.
In addition to data communication the modem also provides the external power supply for the battery-operated volume correctors EK260 and EK-88. This is especially then profitable, if data are readout more often than monthly.


The EnCal 3000 is a gas chromatograph specially designed for fiscal energy measurement of natural gas. It uses chromatography components based on the latest Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology and capillary columns. This yields highly repeatable and accurate analysis results. The compact analyser contains the analytical hardware, sample conditioning, stream selection and all required electronics for stand-alone operation.


The Elster-Instromet real-time flow computer series are designed for hydrocarbon liquid and gas measurement and control applications. The advanced features support flexible configurations for fiscal and custody transfer measurements based on volume, mass and energy calculations using the latest applicable AGA, ISO and API standards available. The specified flow ranges apply to the respective nominal size for a wall thicknesses according Schedule 40. Depending on the metrological approval (eg PTB), the required pressure range and the resulting inside diameter of the meter the flow ranges may differ from the tabular value.

The single and double path hot tap or spool piece meter have very high repeatability and accuracy due to the linear performance. The long path lengths, due to bouncing technology, gives the meter increased accuracy. The absence of moving parts makes the single path meter ideally suited for measurement of pulsating flow's over a large range, immune to particles and liquid residue.

Das Gehäuse besteht aus Aluminium oder Sphäroguss. In Sphäroguss sind die Zähler bis 4 bar HTB-beständig.
Die Lager sind ölgeschmiert. Serienmäßig sind zwei NF-Impulsnehmer und ein Manipulationskontakt eingebaut; ein HF-Impulsgeber ist auf Wunsch lieferbar.

The RVG G16 to G400 meters operate on the displacement principle in a rangeability of up to 1:160.
The housing is made of aluminium or spheroidal graphite iron. The spheroidal graphite iron versions are firesafe up to a pressure of 4 bar.
The bearings are lubricated with oil. Two low-frequency pulsers come as standard as well as a tampering control contact. A high-frequency pulser can be supplied on request.

Zusätzlich zur Linie der Turbinenradgaszähler startete Elster-Instromet vor über zwei Dekaden die Entwicklung von Drehkolbengaszählern. Die größte Herausforderung war, ein zuverlässiges Gerät zu entwickeln, welches unabhängig von allen Installationseffekten sein sollte. Für dieses Ziel wurde die einzigartige Messpatrone entwickelt. Das Gerät besteht grundsätzlich aus dem Mess-Modul und dem Druck-Gehäuse, welches die Durchflussmessung vom restlichen Prozess trennt. Das Resultat ist ein zuverlässiges Hochleistungsgerät mit beispielloser Flexibilität.

Neue Märkte und damit neue Anforderungen führten zur Entwicklung der IRM-3 Serie. Revolutionär im Design von Drehkolbengaszählern sind die quadratisch geformten Kolben oder Rotoren. Sie ermöglichen ein kompaktes, robustes Gerät mit hoher Messspanne und einem Minimum an Wartung. Die Kombination von kompaktem Design und der doppelten Anzahl von Rotoren ermöglicht Durchflüsse bis zu 1600 m³/h bei hohen Drücken bis zu 16 bar.


New markets, and thus new requirements, initiated the development of the IRM-3 series. Revolutionary in the design of rotary gas meters are the square shaped impellers or rotors, resulting in a compact, robust meter with a high turn down ratio and with a minimum of maintenance required. The combination of the compact design and the dual rotor design enabled flow ranges up to 1600 m³/h and high performance up to 16 bar.


The gas-net F1 is an electronic flow computer for natural and industrial gases with an integrated data logger. The device can be combined with various intrinsically safe or explosion-proof pressure transmitters and temperature sensors.
The gas-net F1 is able to correct up to three streams with one or two flow directions per stream.

The EnCal 2000 PGC is an analyzer that measures the composition of natural gas. It calculates the Heating Value and Density of the Natural Gas according to ISO 6976 Method.

The complete System consists of the Gas Chromatograph, Control Unit, Calibration gas, Carrier gas, Sample probe and optionally a heated Sample line. The System can be accessed remotely with an optional Modem connected to the Control Unit. Together with the Elster-Instromet Flow Computers and Ultrasonic or Turbine Gas Flow Meters the EnCal 2000 PGC forms a total Energy Measurement System for Custody Transfer Applications.

In addition to the range of turbine gas meters, Elster-Instromet started over two decades ago with the design of rotary gas meters. The biggest challenge was to design a reliable meter, unaffected by installation effects, and for this the unique cartridge was designed. The meter basically consists of a measurement module and a pressure housing, separating the flow measurement from the process. The Elster-Instromet Biogas Meter BGM, an adapted version of the TRZ turbine meter is designed to withstand the demanding application of biogas. Special attention is paid to the correct functioning of the ball bearings. An automatic lubrication system is integrated to guarantee virtual maintenance free operation.
BGM are widely used for custody transfer and for internal measurement of biogas, e.g. in agricultural farms and sewage plants.

The J42 is an angled type regulator designed for low pressure domestic meter applications with inlet pressures up to 350mb. It uses well proven principles of control dynamics together with modern assembly  techniques  to  produce a regulator which offers excellent performance in a compact, low cost, maintenance free unit.
The J42 meter service regulator meets the requirements of British Gas Specification PRS3 and the Dutch Gastec Approval requirements No.11. It has full lock-up capability and is available with or without integral under pressure cut off (UPCO). The UPCO version has an automatic reset which re-establishes supply dependant upon the system integrity. It can be mounted in either a vertical or horizontal orientation, and is suitable for use with natural, liquid petroleum and manufactured gases.

The J78 range is a compact, accurate and economical regulator. It is suitable for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications such as boiler and burner trains. The J78 offers positive lock up, and is available in a number of sizes, with a comprehensive range of regulator springs for different requirements.
The J78 range is suitable for inlet pressures up to 350mbar (5psig). It meets the essential requirements of the European Gas Directive (90/396/EEC). All units are designed for natural, liquefied petroleum and manufactured gases and can be installed in horizontal or vertical pipelines.

The J90 is a dedicated angle regulator designed to give accurate control, even at low pressure differentials, with excelent reliability. The 1¼” (35mm) and 2” (50mm) J90 have brass meter union adaptors to fit the U16, U25 and U40 meters. The 3” (80mm) model has universal outlet flanged connections to suit the U65 and U100 meters. The U160 (5650 ft3/hr) can also be used with the 80mm J90 (7840 ft3/hr).
The J90 is a meter service regulator suitable for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications. All units are designed for natural, liquid petroleum and manufactured gases.
The J90 has been designed for high efficiency and sensitivity with maximum flow and minimum pressure loss.
The 1¼" and 2" sizes of J90 are supplied with a tapered screwed thread to BS21 (ISO 7) on the inlet, and a meter union connection to BS746 on the outlet. The 3” size is supplied flanged to BS EN 1092 NP16. A special adaptor flange is required for fitment to the U160 meter.

The Elster Jeavons APPLIANCE Regulators are compact and economical. They are suitable a wide range of domestic appliance and pilot applications with inlet pressures up to 100mbar (40"wg). They comply with the Essential Requirements of the European Gas Appliance Directive (90/396/EEC). The J125 range of regulators for service applications where accurate pressure control is required. Ideal for industrial pressure reducing, metering stations and for district distribution. Inlet pressure range of 70mb - 8.6 bar. The ¾”, 1" and 1½” sizes are available with screwed connections, the 2” size is available with screwed or flanged connections.
The J125 can have a full or limited capacity relief valve. It can be supplied with the Universal Safety Shut-off Assembly (USSA). This provides overpressure and/or underpressure protection. It gives exceptional consistency of operation and an unrivalled insensitivity to nuisance tripping. All units are suitable for natural, liquified petroleum and manufactured gases. As part of the comprehensive range of safety equipment, Elster Jeavons produces two special versions of the proven J48 range. These are the J48K pressure relief valve and the J48KC creep relief valve. Both versions incorporate quick release spring adjustment mechanisms which provide easy access for spring adjustment and routine maintenance.
The J48K pressure relief valve guards against excess pressure. The valve is fully automatic in operation and resets when the pressure falls below the pre-set value.
The J48KC creep relief valve is normally fitted on a skid or modular units. It prevents the build up of pressure on the downstream side during periods of zero demand in the event of main stream valves not locking up. The units are sized so that their maximum capacity is less than 1% of the full fault capacity of the skid or modular unit (British Gas Specification BGC/PS/E26).
Both versions, which are designed for natural, liquefied petroleum and manufactured gases, can be installed in horizontal and vertical pipelines.

The J120 is a safety valve which ensures the integrity of an installation in the event of loss of gas pressure. In the event of pressure drop, the J120 is activated and shuts off the gas supply to the down stream appliances until the manual or automatic reset mechanism is operated. The J120 is available in sizes from ¾" to 2" and supplied factory set.
The J120 ensures the safety and integrity of an installation in the event of unacceptably low gas pressure or failure of the gas supply. In such a situation, burners could become extinguished and, upon restoration of the supply, gas could pass through open cocks. To prevent this, the J120 operates at a pre-set gas pressure and automatically shuts off the supply. Upon restoration of the gas supply, all downstream burner cocks must be closed before the J120 reset mechanism allows the gas to flow.
The J120 is designed for horizontal and vertical pipelines. It is suitable for operation with natural, liquefied petroleum and manufactured gases.

The J92 angled dust filter is designed for industrial and commercial installations to protect regulators, valves, meters and similar equipment from dust and debris carried in the gas stream.
Two grades of stainless steel filter element are available, 50 and 200 micron which are suitable for use in systems to BGC/PS/E26 and IGE/TD/10.
The basic model is supplied with three tappings, two of which can be used for a differential pressure gauge. The other can be used for venting prior to element replacement. Optional factory fitted plugged valves are available for connection to these tappings. All units are suitable for operation on natural, liquid petroleum and manufactured gases.

The S300 in-line over pressure slam shut (OPSS) protects gas installations, especially polyethylene pipework, from dangerous overpressure conditions and can be fitted either before or after the first stage regulator (see over the page for installation diagrams). Versions are available with either internal or external impulse. When the pressure increases above a predetermined value the trigger mechanism actuates and the valve shuts off the gas supply. Resetting can only be achieved manually. The S300 can be used with natural, liquefied petroleum and manufactured gases and can be mounted in any orientation.

The software modules RM100 and RM200 for Pocket PCs (OS Pocket PC 2003 or Windows Mobile 5.0) are used for reading out data from and setting parameters in volume correctors and data loggers.  The connection between the Pocket PC and the device being read out is established via a wireless Bluetooth connection (up to 10 metres) using Bluetooth readout adaptors and the correspond-ing integrated interface in the Pocket PC itself. The collected archive data is transferred via a docking station or a corresponding connec-tion cable to a PC and imported to the Elster-Instromet LIS system for further processing.

Orifice metering has been traditionally selected for many applications because of the lack of moving parts and the possibility of on-site verification, even though its accuracy is limited.

Elster-Instromet's expertise is often called upon to produce complete measurement systems based on orifice meters. To maintain the accuracy of orifice metering, regular calibrations of all transmitters must be performed, potentially increasing the cost of ownership. Remotely connect and disconnect service at the meter. Endpoints with an optional internal service control switch are available with the EnergyAxis System. When equiped with a service control switch, service can be connected or disconnected at the meter from a remote location. Sending service personnel into the field for connect and disconnect service calls can be virtually eliminated. This functionality is also useful in dealing with non-payment or deliquency problems.

Automated meter reading (AMR) systems and advanced metering infrastructures (AMI) can help utilities improve their billing and revenue flow. Utilities using AMR traditionally bill customers once per month based on total kWh consumed over the monthly billing cycle. AMR systems meet the meter reading requirements for monthly consumption because they are typically walk-by/drive-by or fixed networks with one-way communications. For some utilities, AMR systems is a cost effective way of collecting billing data because it automates the meter reading process and that is all the utility needs.


However, utilities that need to do more than just collect monthly billing data need solutions that can deliver more metering data. For example, an AMI system is essential for utilities that want to offer demand response programs to customers. AMI systems with two-way communications enable utilities to collect time-of-use (TOU) and interval data on a daily basis.


Utilities that have areas of high turnover can surgically deploy an AMI system into the area and see quick turnaround times on final bills in addition to other cost savings. Meters used with AMR and AMI systems record the same usage information over equivalent recording periods, such as hourly or daily.  However, there are several differences in capabilities that differentiate AMR and AMI systems.


• AMI systems can store interval or TOU data and make it available for other uses. AMR systems aggregate detailed interval or TOU data into a total monthly consumption or into predefined tiered-rate buckets for billing.


• AMI systems have remote communication two-way communications to support daily or on-demand meter reads. AMR provides limited communication that requires either on-site or near-site capability to read meter data.

The F4000, FM-Approved fire service meter meets the requirements of utilities that specify AWWA Type II Fire Service devices. The F4000 incorporates in one assembly a FM-Approved Fire Service Strainer, AWWA Class II Turbine Meter for deluge flows, C700 PD meter for low and normal flow measurement, and a check valve to direct flows to the appropriate measuring chamber.

 

To minimize the cost of recommended servicing, the F4000's externally loaded spring valve offers the convenience of check valve inspection and manipulation without any disruption of customer service and its modular construction allows field replacement of either measurement chamber without service disruption.


The T3000 is a high velocity Class II Turbine Meter exceeding AWWA Standard C-701. The AMCO Water family of top-performing T3000 meters includes sizes 1 1/2" to 8" in bronze and 1 1/2" to 12" in epoxy coated cast iron. Also available is the 3" Fire Hydrant Meter for construction and other temporary water services.

Performance and simplicity are incorporated into the T3000 design. The T3000's throated inlet increases low flow sensitivity, assuring high accuracy while maintaining low pressure loss. This design also provides space between the rotor and chamber wall to allow passage of the suspended solids commonly seen in large meter installations.

For higher accuracy, in-line straightening vanes reduce turbulence. The T3000's under gear assembly reduces the speed of the driving magnet, preventing magnetic break-away during acceleration, maximizing usage registration.

The T3000 design is modular, facilitating maintenance by allowing replacement of the measuring element without removing the meter from service. High quality materials, including a tungsten carbide rotor shaft, PTFE (Teflon) radial bearings, ceramic jewel thrust bearings and stainless steel body trim, combine to maximize service life.

Combining high accuracy T3000 Turbine Meter measurement with a C700 Positive Displacement Meter in one assembly, the C3000 exceeds the performance required in AWWA Standard C-702. For selection of the appropriate chamber for measurement, the assembly includes a differential pressure valve downstream of the turbine measuring chamber that remains closed during low flows, causing all flow to be measured by the Positive Displacement chamber. When flows exceed about 1/2 the rated capacity of the PD meter, the valve opens, allowing the Turbine measuring element to capture high flows. Compound Meters are available in sizes 2" to 8".

The C3000 design is modular, facilitating maintenance. The drop-in measuring element of a standard T3000 Turbine meter allows fast change-out of the high-flow element when required. A standard C700 Positive Displacement meter can replace the by-pass line meter as required. Long life designs for both the turbine and positive displacement meters, coupled with a high-performance valve, minimize repair.

For utilities desiring the efficiency and safety of advanced reading technologies, Encoder, Digital or Pulse Generator registers are available for all C3000 meters.

The S2000 single jet meter fills the performance gap of traditional utility products, for broad flow range and higher pressure applications. The S2000 offers high accuracy over a broad flow range (500:1) for services up to 232 psi. The S2000 provides accuracy ± 2% in the normal operating range and 95% to 102% for low flows.

The S2000 combines high quality materials and a one moving-part design to provide rugged construction. The S2000 is designed with a bronze top cover and main case, stainless steel case bolts, calibration vane, rotor spindle, thermoplastic rotor, and tungsten carbide rotor tip and thrust pads, for low maintenance, long service life.

Lower initial cost and lower maintenance cost produce a lower life cost than broad flow range alternatives. The S2000 is easy to install, with a compact design that allows installation where space is limited and simplifies replacement of obsolete meters.

The FM-Approved AquaMaster FSM (AM-FSM) assembly provides high accuracy, long-life meter performance for services that provide both domestic and fire service flows, offering a cost-effective, revenue-enhancing alternative to mechanical fire-service designs. The brass or low-lead bronze positive displacement design V100 meter combines rugged tamperproof construction, long-term accuracy, efficient size and installation flexibility. Available in 5/8'' x ½'' and 5/8'' x ¾'' in both 4½ and 7½ inch lengths, the V100 allows installation in cramped spaces. V100 Meters are designed for potable cold water up to 120° F and working pressure up to 150 psi. Meters operate from 95% to 101% from ¼ to 20 gpm.

Pulse output units may be installed at any time, as the output unit is a plug-in device. The transmitting element is a dry contact reed switch rated to 3 watts. The device has 2 wires and requires power from an external source.

Select the reading technology offering the lowest reading cost, quickest, most reliable and least intrusive installation: the InsideR&reg; System from AMCO. The InsideR System transmitter is contained within the C700 register, eliminating site wiring and protecting the unit from resident tampering. The InsideR System is available with the C700 meter, in waterworks or low-lead bronze or polymer.

The InsideR System frequency hopping spread spectrum transmitter operates in the 902-928 MHz frequency range, with no license required. Encoder reading increases efficiency by reducing reading time and eliminating human error. Encoder reading significantly improves meter reader safety by eliminating the need to enter residences or hazardous confined spaces to take readings.

The encoder reading is obtained directly from the position of the register&#39;s odometer wheel, and not accumulated from pulses or switch closures. No batteries are required. The encoder communicates over a 2-wire configuration (non-polarized) through our remote reading pad for electronic meter reading, or over a 3-wire configuration for mobile or fixed AMR.

For remote visual reading of C700 PD Meters

The Generator Remote Meter Reading System is designed to permit visual remote reading of metered water usage. The System consists of a C700 positive displacement piston type equipped with a pulse-type generator register and remote wall unit.

The Generator Remote Meter Reading System facilitates visual remote meter reading when applied to meters in basements, crawl spaces, shopping centers, condominiums or industrial plants when lockouts, security, location or similar restrictions impede regular direct meter reading. Pit set applications are not recommended.

The piston movement in the C700 measuring chamber magnetically drives the generator. Each of the generator pulses is equivalent to a known volume of water. The generator totalises water throughput and sends pulses to the wall unit via a 2-conductor wire. The pulses are counted and displayed on the wall unit totalizer for visual reading.

The Generator Remote Meter Reading system complies with all design, performance and material requirements of AWWA Standard C-706.

The T3000 is a high velocity Class II Turbine Meter exceeding AWWA Standard C-701.&nbsp; The Elster AMCO Water family of top-performing T3000 meters includes sizes 1 1/2" to 8" in waterworks and NSF-61 certified low-lead bronze in sizes 1 ½? to 8?.&nbsp; These meters can be fitted with a variety of registers and pulse outputs appropriate to applications for direct read, batch control and rate of flow into plant maintenance and process control.&nbsp;

The H4000, sizes 1½'' through 12'', is an inferential cold-water meter with a rotor that measures accurately in either direction, driving the rotor in direct proportion to the velocity of the water passing through the meter.

Rotor revolutions are transferred to a register or register/pulser assembly by a magnetic drive assembly. The register will indicate a differential total when flow is run in both directions or will accumulate total flow in one direction only.

The H4000 is recommended for industrial monitory of high flows of cold water (less than 120° F) for direct read, remote totalization, and batching and continuous processes for rate of flow and bi-directional flows. The H4000 is suitable for services up to 230 psi.

The H3200 Hydrant Meter is designed for temporary water service from a fire hydrant or for temporary metering of well pumping, irrigation, construction, testing or similar non-permanent applications.

The 3'' H3200 is a high-accuracy AWWA Class II Turbine, with lightweight aluminium case with two removable steel carrying handles. A removable flow restrictor plate is installed in the outlet throat to prevent over-peeding when water is flowing to atmosphere.

This meter has internal 2½'' American Standard Taper Pipe Thread end connections. Bronze National Standard Fire Hose Couplings are supplied. The inlet coupling has 2½'' NST female threads; the outlet 2½'' NST male threads.

The M190 hot water meter, sizes 1'' and 1½'', is a multi-jet inferential meter designed for batch or continuous process monitoring of hot water up to 266° F in services up to 230 psi.

The impeller and magnet are the only moving parts in the measuring chamber. A magnetic coupling transfers impeller movement to the register or pulser assembly. The M190 body is cast bronze with a bronze register-securing ring.

A pulse unit is integral to the meter and consists of the pulse element (a 4-watt rated reed switch) and clear lens housing with meter securing ring and 9-10 feet of 2-wire unshielded cable exiting from a sealed fitting.

Model H4300 is a Woltman-design horizontal impeller meter, with only two moving parts, the impeller and magnet. The H4300, in sizes 2" h to 6, is a high accuracy turbine meter, operating with low flow accuracy ±3% and accuracy ±1% up to peak flow. The H4300 is recommended for measurement up to 250° F and pressure up to 230 psi.

The H4300 consists of the Grey Cast Iron main case, a measuring chamber, impeller, removable top plate and O-ring with a magnetically driven, dust and moisture sealed register or pulser and register housing.

Either a reed switch element or opto-electronic pulse transmitter can be selected for the H4300.


 
 











 
 

Model H4400 can be installed in services where water temperature can reach 350o F and pressures are up to 195 psi (250° F at pressures up to 230 psi). Available in sizes 2'', 3'' and 4'', model H4400 offers improved low flow performance (± 2%). The H4400 Hot water meter is a Woltman vertical impeller meter. Magnetic coupling transfers the impeller movement to an o-ring sealed register.

Two externally powered pulser models are available for the H4400, a reed switch pulser for output of 1 contact per 10 or 100 gallons, and an inductive (Namur) pulser for higher resolution (3.785 contacts per 1 gallon).

Our PVDF Turbine meters, sizes ½'' and 1'', are suitable for flows of 0.6 gpm to 50 gpm, with accuracy ± 1.5% in the normal operating ranges, and operates in services up to 150 psi and 140º F. This unit retains all of the capabilities of the AMCO 316 SS Turbine Meter, buy the PVDF (Kynar) material and ceramic shaft allow use with approximately 100 more chemicals than stainless steel.

The PVDF Turbine meters are of an inferential design. The fluid passes through the meter without change in direction and drives the rotor in direct proportion to the quantity of fluid passing through the meter. 316 SS Turbine Meters are designed to provide high-accuracy measurement of a wide variety of industrial chemicals, with viscosity from 1 to 25 centipoise, and high-pressure applications (up to 1500 psi). In the normal operating ranges for each size accuracy ranges from ±2% on ½'' meters, ±1.5% on ¾'' and 1'' sizes, and ±1% on 1 ½'' and 2'' meters.

The 316 SS Turbine meters are of an inferential design. Industrial Rate Indicator/Transmitter/Totalizer

The R420 microprocessor-based rate indicator/transmitter/totalizer affords the ability to display rate total and low/high set points in industrial metering applications. The transmitter also suppliers outputs for driving lights, alarms, totalization for remote and 4-20 mA signal for communication with recorders or like equipment. The R420 also has RS-485 communications for interfacing with a computer.

The R420 accepts input from any AMCO flow meter with pulser or other pulse output device.

The model is an economical up-counting totalizer and 1/Tau rate meter, compatible with AMCO C700 and T3000 meters. The rate meter/totalizer has an 8-digit LCD display with 0.43&#39;&#39; tall characters. Separately programmable count/rate scalers and decimal points allow for display of rate and count in various engineering units.

The low speed input is suited to contact closures such as reed switches or the AMCO Type B pulse on the C700 meter. The high-speed input may be used with solid state, current sourcing pulsers such as the AMCO SF pulser (C700) and HRP (T3000).

One of the unique features of the R10 is the frequency capability of the low speed input. Similar rate meters/totalizers have low speed input frequencies of 40 Hz or less. However, the low speed input on the R10 will accept contacts up to 100 Hz.

A power-assist feature extends battery life when a sourcing signal is applied to the high-speed input.

The industrial Electronic Register is an LCD display that has been installed in a watertight, aluminum housing easily adapted for installation on AMCO C700, T3000 and H4000 cold-water meters. The ER is designed to replace mechanical registers with LCD displays of rate indication and totalization in the basic unit.

Fabricated spool pieces with or without a test outlet are available in many lengths to serve as spacers when exact laying lengths are needed, as downstream test outlets for turbine and compound meters and for downstream flushing. Spool pieces simplify replacement of old compound and turbine meters.

Spool pieces can be equipped with or without a test outlet. The outlet provides increased test flow flexibility compared to the usual single test outlet. Test outlets are tapped 1½'' in a 3'' spool and 2'' in 4'' to 12'' spools. Test plugs are bronze with square heads.

Vertical Z-plate design strainers are recommended to protect AMCO T3000 and C3000 cold-water meters from the damaging effects of debris and foreign material. The strainer improves the velocity profile of the water being metered and minimizes the effects of velocity distortion caused by upstream valves and fittings.

Strainers are for use in potable cold water up to 120o F and working pressure up to 150 psi and should be installed immediately upstream from the meter.

The Elster Perfection PermaLock Mechanical Tapping Tee offers gas line installers a unique combination of speed, economy, and security when connecting a service line to a gas main. PermaLock low profile tapping tees can be installed in as little as five minutes without the need for expensive heat fusion equipment.     Elster Perfection's siphon tee is a permanent, cost-effective solution for the removal of standing water from natural gas mains. Once the siphon tee has been properly installed, a shut-off valve can be placed at the surface.  When the main needs to be drained again, the operator simply accesses the valve and siphons the water according to the utility's operating standards.

    The MagMaster is an electromagnetic water meter operating on Faraday’s principle of induction. MagMaster covers the full flow range of most mechanical meters with a high accuracy. MagMaster is available in sizes 2” to 12” with industry standard 4-20 mA output of rate of flow data.


    Elster AMCO Water offers utilities a choice of accessories for its meters. 

    Vertical Z-plate design strainers are recommended to protect Elster T3000 and C3000 cold-water meters from the damaging effects of debris and foreign material. The strainer improves the velocity profile of the water being metered and minimizes the effects of velocity distortion caused by upstream valves and fittings.

    Strainers are for use in potable cold water up to 120° F and working pressure up to 150 psi and should be installed immediately upstream from the meter.


     Fabricated spool pieces with or without a test outlet are available in many lengths to serve as spacers when exact laying lengths are needed, as downstream test outlets for turbine and compound meters and for downstream flushing. Spool pieces simplify replacement of old compound and turbine meters.

    Spool pieces can be equipped with or without a test outlet. The outlet provides increased test flow flexibility compared to the usual single test outlet. Test outlets are tapped 1 ½'' in a 3'' spool and 2'' in 4'' to 12'' spools. Test plugs are bronze with square heads.

    Elster AMCO Water's C700 oscillating piston type water meters are the most advanced design positive displacement meters available.  Boasting dependability and engineering excellence, the C700 line, sizes 5/8” to 2”, can be offered with a variety of registers, pulsers and material configurations, including a choice of waterworks or NSF-61 certified low-lead bronze main cases.  These meters are appropriate for applications in direct read, pulse output, batching and rate of flow for plant maintenance.

    The C700's uniquely designed chambers, with dual-stage pistons, are custom engineered for performance exceeding applicable AWWA standards. Nylon materials are selected for strategically placed wear areas, providing long life and reduced noise.

    Indicative of the product's versatility, all direct read meters are easily converted with pulse generator, encoder or transmitting registers for remote, electronic or automatic meter reading compatibility. For easy and accurate visual reading, C700 meters incorporate a very large (3 1/2") register with large color-coded odometer wheels. The register's leak detector registers even the smallest flow due to the unique 1:1 ratio to the piston.

    The V100 is a compact, lightweight positive displacement meter of a piston design in sizes ½”x ½” in polymer and ½”x ½”to 5/8”x ¾”.  Meters are low cost and operate ± 1 ½%.  V100 is for services up to 120º F and 150 psi.  The V100 is appropriate for applications with water conditioning and purification.

    The H4000, sizes 1½'' through 12'', is an inferential cold-water meter with a rotor that measures accurately in either direction, driving the rotor in direct proportion to the velocity of the water passing through the meter.

    The H4000 is recommended for industrial monitoring of high flows of cold water (less than 120° F) for direct read, remote totalization, and batching and continuous processes for rate of flow and bi-directional flows. The H4000 is suitable for services up to 230 psi.

    The R1000, sizes 2'' to 10'', is designed for measurement of high flows of cold water, in-plant applications for dirty water, standard agriculture, river and lake pumping applications as well as normal irrigation applications for water resource management.

    The R1000 is an inferential meter providing accuracy ± 2% in the normal flow range. Water passing through the meter drives the vertical measuring element in direct proportion to the velocity of the water. The meter's rotor revolutions are transferred to a register or register/pulser assembly by a magnetic drive.


    For monitoring hot water flows for batch or continuous flow processes, Elster AMCO Water provides five models of inferential meters to accommodate a variety of flow rates, pipe sizes and maximum temperatures.

    At the lowest flow rates (¼ to 22 gpm) and pipe diameter (¾”) is the model S130 inferential meter, of the single jet design. S130 brass case meters suitable for measuring water up to 195º F and services up to 150 psi, can be equipped to provide dry contact reed switch output of 1 contact per gallon (or per 10 liters).

    Brass case/brass top plate model M190, multi-jet inferential meters are provided in sizes 1 and 1 ½”, for flows from ½ to 31 gpm and 7/8 to 88 gpm, respectively, in services with pressure up to 230 psi and 266º F. An externally powered pulser insert is available to provide a dry contact reed switch output of 1 contact per gallon (or per 10 liters).

    Model H4400, can be installed in services where water temperature can reach 350º F and pressures are up to 195 psi, 250 º F where pressure reaches 230 psi. Available in sizes 2”, 3” and 4” model H4400 offers improved low flow performance ± 2%. Two externally powered pulser models are available for the H4400, a reed switch pulser for output of 1 contact per 10 gallons or per 100 USG and an inductive (Namur) pulser for higher resolution, 3.785 contacts per 1 USG.

Designed for measurement of #2 oil, Elster4 and Elster8 are suitable for measuring gasoline and other light heating oils for line lubrication and for heating units and industrial furnaces, gasoline engines, including emergency generators, and gasoline applications, as well as industrial batching or rate of flow applications.

    Oil Meter Models Elster15 (1/2”), Elster20 (3/4”), Elster25 (1”), Elster40 (1 ½") and Elster50 (2") are designed for monitoring oil (#2 through #6 on ¾” or larger sizes) in higher volume applications- including burners and boilers, fuel consumption in land or sea-based diesel and gasoline engines, industrial batching and rate of flow process control. Depending on size, meters provide highly accurate measurement of flows from 2.6 gph to 8000 gph (10 l/h to 30,000 l/h) up to 266º F. Standard threaded end units operate up to 225 psi; flanged end units are also available for operation up to 355 psi.

    All Elster AMCO Oil Meters can be equipped with both high and low-speed pulse output, for multi-dimensional interfacing for batching operations and rate of flow or remote totalization and control.

    For monitoring of chemicals in industrial processes and in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food processing industries for totalization, batch control and rate of flow, Elster AMCO Water offers either Positive Displacement or Turbine design stainless steel meters. These meters offer exceptional accuracy (± 0.5%) and can be configured for temperatures up to 250º F (121º C).

    Our Precision Stainless Steel Turbine Meters are available ins sizes ½" through 2".  These meters are appropriate for a wide variety of flow applications.  Outputs options include sine wave frequency pulse, conditional square wave pulse or blind 4-20mA analogue signal.  

    316 Stainless Steel Turbine meters are an inferential design that allows fluid to pass through the meter without a change in direction. 316 SS Turbines are manufactured in sizes ½” to 2” and provide accuracy ± 2% at low and normal flows.

    For many chemicals incompatible with 316 SS and where a more rugged meter is required, Elster AMCO offers a ½” and 1” high-accuracy turbine, of the same design as our SS turbine, but manufactured of PVDF (Kynar). Our PVDF Turbine meters, depending on size, are suitable for flows of 0.5 to 50 gpm and operate in a temperature range of -20º F to 140º F (-28º C to 82º C).

    Both stainless steel and Kynar chemical turbine meters are Factory Mutual (FM) approved and carry a Class 1, Division 1, Groups A-G Approval for hazardous environments.

    Chemical Turbine Meters can be equipped with pulse output, 4-20 mA output, external power module or standard remote kit for applications for use with remote counters, batch controllers, rate transmitters, direct to chart recorder or computers. The standard remote kit allows chemical turbine meters to be placed in high temperature applications, up to 250º F (121º C).

    The ALPHA Plus® meter is a totally electronic single phase or polyphase electricity meter and integral register that collects, processes, and stores energy use and demand data on either a single rate or time of use (TOU) basis. It meets or exceeds the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards for electricity metering and is certified for use by industrial and electric utility customers. It has been certified for direct access use in California.

    ALPHA Plus is the first meter in its class that can time/date/phase stamp voltage sags as short as 2 line cycles in duration. An internal log maintains this information for the last 40 sags.

    ALPHA Plus meters support metering requirements ranging from kWh and kW demand meter to multi-rate, real/reactive meter that automatically validates service connections, provides instrumentation readings and load profile readings with remote communications. ALPHA Plus meters are available in a variety of configurations to meet your revenue metering requirements. The meters also offer a PQM (power quality monitoring) option. This feature helps isolate the cause of transients, harmonics and sags. PQM monitors circuit parameters on a cyclic, 24-hour basis throughout the billing period and recognizes deviations beyond the programmed threshold for each phase.

    Instrumentation on the ALPHA Plus meter are display quantities that assists in evaluating the service by providing real time analysis of the conditions present at the meter installation. The instrumentation measurements are near instantaneous and require no memory storage within the meter. Using Elster meter support software, system instrumentation may be configured to select which quantities to display as well as the display sequence where they will be shown.

    Elster AMCO Water's C700 oscillating piston type water meters are the most advanced design positive displacement meters available.     The C700's uniquely designed chambers, with dual-stage pistons, are custom engineered for performance exceeding applicable AWWA standards. Nylon materials are selected for strategically placed wear areas, providing long life and reduced noise.

    Indicative of the product's versatility, all direct read meters are easily converted with pulse generator, encoder or transmitting registers for remote, electronic or automatic meter reading compatibility. For easy and accurate visual reading, C700 meters incorporate a very large (3 1/2") register with large color-coded odometer wheels. The register's leak detector registers even the smallest flow due to the unique 1:1 ratio to the piston.

    The complete family of top-performing C700 meters includes sizes 5/8" to 2" offered with a variety of material configurations and registers, and sizes 5/8" to 1 1/2" with main cases of waterworks or low-lead bronze.

    The brass or low-lead bronze positive displacement design V100 meter combines rugged tamperproof construction, long-term accuracy, efficient size and installation flexibility. Available in 5/8'' x ½'' and 5/8'' x ¾'' in both 4½ and 7½ inch lengths, the V100 allows installation in cramped spaces. V100 Meters are designed for potable cold water up to 120° F and working pressure up to 150 psi. Meters operate from 95% to 101% from ¼ to 20 gpm.

    Pulse output units may be installed at any time, as the output unit is a plug-in device. The transmitting element is a dry contact reed switch rated to 3 watts. The device has 2 wires and requires power from an external source. 


    For connection to AMR systems, the S130 can be equipped with a dry contact reed switch pulser, rated at 4 watts, which requires power from an external source. The unit is to be wired in series with no regard to polarity.

    For submetering applications the pulser interfaces to automatic meter reading equipment; for industrial applications meter pulser provides input to totalizing and process control equipment.

    The S130 single-jet hot-water meter (up to 195°F and 150 psi) and cold water meter (up to 104° F) offers high accuracy (±2%) throughout the normal flow range, exceeding AWWA positive displacement and multi-jet meter specifications, and low flow accuracy (± 5%). The normal operating range of the S130 is 1 to 22 gpm.

    In the S130 single-jet (inferential) meter, impeller movement is transferred by a magnetic coupling to the hermetically sealed register.

    The A1200 ALPHA® meter meets or exceeds IEC 61036 standards for 3-phase meters. A1200 ALPHA Meter Software provides multilingual support for setting up seasons, multiple tariffs, and time-of-use metering.

    The A1200 ALPHA meter can be configured to allow energy providers to obtain information about their customers. Seventy display quantities can be defined (30 display quantities per display sequence), including phased currents, kW and kVAR, or kVA per tariff, overload threshold, maximum demand, time in operation, demand reset count, and error codes.

    With its wide current and voltage range, the A1200 ALPHA meter can be used for various current and voltage ratings, significantly reducing the energy provider's inventory costs. The A1200 ALPHA meter offers a standard wide voltage range from 100 V line-to-neutral through 415 V line-to-line. Direct connected (to 120 A*) and CT connected (to 10 A) system connections are supported.

    The meter also has a 12 kV surge protection rating. The A1200 ALPHA meter's accurate and reliable meter data comes from the patented ALPHA meter chip that is currently used in over two million ALPHA electricity meters installed around the world.
