Elster American Meter introduces AC250 Residential Meter Remote Shut-off Value

Elster American Meter in announcing its release of the AC250 Residential Meter Remote Shut-off Valve. A component for the industry leading AC-250 diaphragm meter, the new Shut-off Valve provides utilities with remote access to, and control of, the natural gas flow to a downstream application. This enables utilities to reduce operating costs, facilitate revenue recovery, and enhance employee and customer safety.

By enabling remote control over downstream gas flow, the AC-250 Remote Shut-off Valve enables utilities to reduce operational costs by executing disconnects promptly when immediate action is required. For instance, utilities can now drive revenue recovery by stopping losses from non-payment and theft. The valve enhances grid safety by enabling advanced shut-off in hard-to-access meter locations or during credible threat situations such as flooding, fire, hurricane or storm. It also improves employee safety by allowing for remote shut-offs when a location may be potentially hazardous.

NEW from the Elster Gas Depot - CATCO catalytic heaters
Elster Gas Depot is pleased to announce the addition of CATCO catalytic heaters to its line of accessory products for gas distribution, measurement, and regulation.  These catalytic heaters provide a safe, flameless heat source to protect vital gas system components from freeze-up.  Stations and other installations where there are low ambient temperatures or large pressure cuts (causing large heat loss) are among the most common applications for catalytic heaters.  Frozen valves and regulators can cost thousands of dollars to repair and can damage critical system components, allowing the investment in catalytic heaters to easily pay for themselves.  For more information, contact Elster Gas Depot or your Elster American Meter customer service representative.

Elster American Meter introduces Side-In / Side-Out connections for AL800 & AL1000 Commercial Diaphragm Meters

AL800/1000 meters are now available with 2" NPT side-in / side-out (SISO) connections.  The SISO configuration and dimensions provide direct replacement of American Meter 80B diaphragm meters making them the ideal cost-effective choice for meter change-out programs.  The SISO's horizontal connections offer an attractive alternative to traditional top connections keeping the meter set piping lower profile and more aesthetically appealing.  The SISO is rated for 20 PSIG MAOP on the AL800 and 25 PSIG on the AL1000.

The SISO is the latest customer-driven development by Elster American Meter to meet industry demands.  Visit our website to download the new SISO literature, or contact your local sales representative for more information.

Elster American Meter introduces the compact, lightweight and easy-to-install AC800 Commercial Diaphragm Meter.

Elster American Meter is excited to launch the new AC-800 commercial diaphragm gas meter.  The AC-800's features provide advantages that enable customers to reduce their costs while maintaining high long-term accuracy and reliability.  This meter is a compact, high-capacity, positive displacement meter designed for commercial and industrial applications. The weight of an AC-800 is less than half of traditional diaphragm meters, which facilitates installation by a single technician and reduces the possibility for injury.  The meter's design also incorporates a front mount index which enables the use of a lower cost residential style AMR/I radio.
